    SUTHA THANABALASINGAM

    DIRECTOR OF CRICKET

    Sutha Thanabalasingam is a Level 3 Accredited Cricket coach appointed by Cricket Australia with 15 years of coaching experience. He currently serves as the Director of Coaching (Head Coach and 1st Grade Coach) at the University of New South Wales (UNSWCC) and previously coached UNSWCC Green Shield for 6 years.

    With a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Sports Science and a Masters in Teaching, Sutha is dedicated to unlocking each player’s full potential through his innovative approach to Instinct Cricket. Come for the skills, stay for the transformation Sutha inspires.

  • Tarik

    TARIK VISWASAM

    HEAD PATHWAYS COACH AND OPERATIONS MANAGER

    Tarik Viswasam is a Level 2 Accredited Cricket Coach appointed by Cricket Australia with 10 years of coaching experience. He currently serves as the Green Shield Head Coach at the University of New South Wales Cricket Club (UNSWCC) and as the Master in Charge of Cricket at Sydney Grammar Preparatory School (Edgecliff).

    Tarik holds a Diploma in Sports Development for Cricket and has previously worked with Cricket NSW as a development officer. As an all-rounder, Tarik currently plays for UNSWCC and has an 8-year history with Blacktown-Mounties Cricket Club (formerly Blacktown Grade Cricket Club).

    TJAYDEN NEWMAN

    JUNIOR PATHWAY COACH

    Tjayden Newman (TJ) brings 15 years of playing experience and 5 years of coaching experience across pathway, representative, and school cricket environments. He specialises in fast bowling and batting development, and currently serves as Assistant Coach of the Waverley College 1st XI. TJ also holds a Diploma in Sports Development (Cricket) and is a former Cricket NSW Development Officer.

    TJ’s coaching philosophy combines technical refinement, tactical understanding, and professional standards to help players maximise their potential and perform consistently under pressure.

    With a strong focus on individualised development, sessions are designed to identify performance gaps, strengthen core fundamentals, and build match-ready skills through structured, purposeful training. TJ is committed to creating an environment that challenges players to continuously improve both individually and within a team setting, with a strong emphasis on discipline, game awareness, and confidence under pressure.

    VIBHU KARTHIKEYAN

    JUNIOR PATHWAY COACH

    Vibhu is a dedicated Junior Pathway Coach at Instinct Cricket, specialising in spin bowling and batting development. He currently plays First Grade cricket for Sydney Cricket Club in the NSW Premier Cricket competition, bringing elite-level playing experience to his coaching.

    Vibhu is passionate about helping players master the technical and tactical aspects of spin bowling and batting, with a focus on developing adaptable, confident cricketers. His coaching philosophy centres on creating a positive learning environment where players are challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.

  • HIRAV GANDHI

    JUNIOR PATHWAY COACH

    Hirav Gandhi is an accomplished all-rounder specialising in batting and spin bowling. Currently representing UNSW Cricket Club, Hirav brings valuable experience from playing in both Sydney and India — two competitive cricketing environments that have shaped his well-rounded understanding of the game.

    Hirav’s coaching philosophy is built on strong fundamentals, with a focus on both technical development and mental resilience. He believes that success in cricket comes from not only refining technique but also developing the mindset to perform under pressure.

    His aim as a coach is to ensure every player is prepared, confident, and equipped with the skills to perform at their best.

  • ROOP BHOOI

    JUNIOR PATHWAY COACH

    Roop Bhooi is currently undertaking his Level 1 Cricket Australia coaching accreditation. With 12 years of playing experience, he specialises in batting and spin bowling, and currently plays First Grade cricket for Blacktown District Cricket Club.

    Roop also works with junior cricketers through CSPD school programs and individualised NDIS sessions, giving him valuable experience across a range of skill levels and learning needs.

    His coaching philosophy is built on strong technical fundamentals with a strong emphasis on the mental aspect of the game. Roop is committed to creating an environment where players are challenged and supported, with the aim of leaving every player more confident, more capable, and better equipped to perform under pressure.
